Build Your Life Free from Porn

Porn is everywhere. Yet for something so common, we rarely talk openly about what happens when it becomes difficult to leave behind.

At Etio, we're not on a mission to rid the world of pornography. Instead, we want to help you build the skills, awareness, and confidence to create a life where porn no longer controls your choices.

Porn may always be around, but it doesn't have to be part of your life.

Why Etio Exists

Etio was founded by Mark Cowan after his own experience with problematic pornography use. After struggling with porn for more than a decade, he became frustrated by how few practical resources existed to help him leave it behind.

Knowing you want to stop is one thing.

Becoming someone who no longer relies on porn is something else entirely.

Etio was built to bridge that gap. We believe anyone who wants to leave pornography behind should have access to practical, evidence-informed support that helps them understand their patterns, navigate urges, and build lasting change.

Recovery Is More Than a Streak

A lot of porn-recovery tools revolve around one question:

How many days has it been since you last watched porn?

But there's a more important question:

Are you moving closer to a life where porn no longer controls you?

At Etio, we don't believe a setback erases your progress. We don't believe shame helps you move forward either. Instead, setbacks can become opportunities to understand what happened, learn from it, and keep building.

Progress can look like:

  • Growing your relationships with friends and family
  • Building routines around exercise, healthy eating, sleep, and other habits that support you
  • Accepting who you are today while working toward who you want to become
  • Talking openly with someone you trust about your struggles with pornography
  • Creating boundaries that make it easier to live in line with your goals
  • Learning from a recent setback instead of letting it define you
  • Sitting through an urge and choosing a healthier alternative

Evidence-Informed. Human First.

Etio draws from research and clinical approaches related to problematic pornography use, compulsive sexual behaviour, behavioural change, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural approaches, acceptance-based strategies, and craving management.

We are not here to diagnose you or tell you what your recovery should look like.

We are here to give you practical tools, greater understanding, and support as you work toward the life you want to build.

You decide what change looks like. Etio helps you work toward it.
