1. About Etio

Etio is a mobile app that helps you pause, understand what you're feeling, and choose what to do next when experiencing an urge. This policy explains what information Etio stores and how it's used.

2. Information stored on your device

Etio stores the following information locally on your device:

  • My Why — the reason you write down and keep visible.
  • Urge-session information — details about sessions you complete in the app, including urge intensity over time.
  • Onboarding state — whether you've completed onboarding.
  • Feedback-prompt state — whether and when you've been shown a prompt to leave feedback.

This information stays on your device and is not automatically transmitted anywhere unless you choose to submit feedback from within the app (see Section 3).

3. Feedback and contact information

If you submit feedback from within the app, it may include:

  • the feedback category you select
  • the feedback message you write
  • an email address, if you choose to provide one

If you submit the contact form on this website, it may include:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your message

4. How information is used

In-app feedback and website contact submissions are used to respond to you (when you've provided contact details) and to understand and improve Etio.

Information stored locally on your device, including My Why, urge-session information, onboarding state, and feedback-prompt state, is used only to power the app's features on your device.

5. Service providers / data sharing

When you submit in-app feedback or the website contact form, that submission is sent to a third-party email-delivery provider (Resend) so it can reach us. We don't sell your information.

6. Data retention

Information stored locally on your device (Section 2) remains there until you delete it, either by using Delete All Data (Section 7) or by deleting the app. Feedback and contact submissions are kept as needed to respond to and act on them.

7. Delete All Data

Etio includes a Delete All Data option in the app. Using it removes the locally stored information described in Section 2 from your device.

8. Children / age requirements

Etio is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
